What's CBD?

CBD which is short for "cannabidiol" one of over 100 cannabinoids that are being studied for potential anti-seizure, anti-inflammatory properties, and other wellness benefits. CBD is non-psychoactive, does not get you "high", and is related to providing a calming effect on the body and mind. Unlike the more popular cannabinoid known as THC " Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol" the psychoactive chemical which is well known for making users feel “high”. Both of these cannabinoids can come from Hemp or Cannabis plants. The difference between these plants is that hemp plants have low concentrations of THC and high concentrations of CBD. Where, many marijuana plants have high concentrations of THC and low concentrations of CBD.

How Does CBD Work?

Recent studies have discovered that all mammals, including human beings have a nervous system referred to as the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is filled with "receptors" that await the presence of cannabinoid molecules. Once a cannabinoid nears, the receptor will bind with it, creating a sophisticated chemical interaction. ECS has shown to support a number of bodily functions, including balance, coordination, activation & suppression of appetite, and your overall mood.

What's CBD Tincture?

CBD tinctures contain a carrier oil such as coconut-derived MCT oil and CBD that has been extracted from hemp flowers, leaves, stems, and contains under 0.3% THC. Depending on the type of CBD (broad spectrum, full spectrum, or CBD Isolate), there may be other natural compounds found in the CBD oil. Full spectrum extract includes all the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids that the plant produces, including a maximum of 0.3% THC, meaning that you won't experience any of the psychoactive effects. Broad spectrum CBD combines the qualities of full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. Once the CBD has been extracted, the oil goes through a secondary process that finds the cannabinoid THC and separates it from the rest of the extract, while leaving all the other active ingredients intact. CBD isolate means that the oil is pure CBD without the additional cannabinoid or terpenes benefits found in full and broad spectrum CBD. Although the amount of THC in CBD Isolate isn’t absolute zero, it is effectively undetectable at a threshold below 0.002%.

Why Use CBD Tinctures?

CBD Tinctures are great for those seeking a convenient and easy way to take CBD. CBD Tinctures provide users with the option of using the included dropper to place the CBD oil underneath their tongue for 60 seconds before swallowing. By applying the oil sublingually it has some time to soak into the capillaries under the tongue, this will help the CBD to be better absorbed into your bloodstream and allows the effects to be felt within 20 minutes up to a couple of hours. Some individuals prefer to drop it into a beverage, like a coffee, tea, smoothie, and to your favorite dishes, deserts or pieces of foods, like bread. CBD Tinctures are easy to travel with on the go and also have a longer shelf life compared to edibles or CBD flower.
